Sherman said running back Jorvorskie Lane will have to adapt to being a fullback in the new offense. Mike Goodson and Bradley Stephens were the top two running backs in drills."www.texags.com/main/forum.reply.asp?forum_id=5&topic_id=1210679-Bradley Stephens is a stud, and maybe you have been reading the wrong "media" in not hearing his name. Sherman loves the guy. He will be the starting RB next year if Goodson leaves.
-Bradley has never once thought about transferring. He loves it here and he likes the competition and welcomes it. His parents bought a house in CS. His parents don't particularly care to see smears of him in the Aggie community by putting up absolute garbage statements like that on the boards. Maybe you are confused about the status of Derrick Stephens and are getting them confused. Either way it it just garbage and is absolutely false.
-From my understanding, Bradley is the #2 back and they were gonna use Gray in the slot to get him on the field, and then next season it would be Bradley and Gray battling for the starting rb job. Am I way off there?
-Goodson - Feature Back Stephens - Backup; Future Feature Back (next year, if Goodson bolts) Cyrus - Slot; Return specialist; Red Zone/Short Yardage Back
-Bradley Stephens is a stud running back that will get plenty of playing time this year. While he might be a half step slower than Goodson, he more than makes up for it with his shiftiness. He's been compared to the likes of a Barry Sanders in regards to moves.......not saying he's Barry...just similar running style. Now, how often do you hear that?

QB: McGee was throwing the ball very accurate. I dont see him throwing too many picks this year. Puts a lot of zip on the ball. JJ looks much better than he did in the spring. His drops look very natural now, and has a good feel for the pocket.
OL: Getting better. Jim Turner is doing a great job. They will learn a ton this season as the year goes on. Schneider has good burst and takes a good first step. He will be solid. The others are getting a good dose of fundamentals.
WR/TE: Couldnt see their individual practices very well. There were some drops that should not have been. One got tipped for a pick by Peterson. Fuller looked really good, he did not drop any.
RB: Goodson looked fully healed and rested from the tweak. Was finding holes, using vision. Stephens looked good as well. He will be a solid #2 back. Didn't see Gray get any hand offs, or much in practice at all. But, some places I couldnt see very well. Lane was out due to the stinger.
DL: This I did see very well, and wow. Mark this down, we will have a pass rush this year. Im not just saying this because they looked good going against a green line, Im talking fundamentals. Buddy Wyatt knows what he is doing. Obiozor, Patterson, and Heard are all beasts, esp Heard. Moss, Davis, Brown, Tony, Dorsey, and Gbunblee will give solid depth to this unit. I did not see Bennet practice.
LB: Again couldn't see them as well. What I can tell is they are going to be faster than last year. Featherston, Lewis, and Miller looked good. I really dont think we can afford any injuries in this group tho. Lewis has good vision on the field, and was flying around.
DB: Like the WR's, couldnt see as much. Peterson I think looks like a natural safety. I think Pugh and Gregg are going to have a breakout year. I really don't have much worries with this group.
Side notes: Brantly has a lot of push when kicking. Having a good punter is really going to become vital in a close game, and he is one of the best. Had to leave before they started kicking field goals. If any of you have a chance, go watch a practice. I have been around football quite a bit and this is a great coaching staff. I foresee someone on this staff becoming a headcoach somewhere in the future. Kines is awesome. These guys respect him so much because they all know he is going to make them better. He beats them over the head with fundamentals constantly. You can take this to the bank, our Defense will be improved. Sherman does a good job letting the coaches coach. He will come over say his piece and observe. He spent some time with the OL and it was awesome to see this guys spout some knowledge. As a whole, you can tell this is going to be a disciplined group. They all have bought in and you can tell they WANT to be there. Everyone is working hard to impress the coaches.
