yeah that's who got it started. he's not getting any credit for the success of the program in weslaco like he used to so he wants to put his name out there

was it that guy rick rpm? idk if he's in charge of everything down here or just the weslaco team but i don't like the guy. his son and i played against each other growing up and he would always say that his boys (the kids he coached in little league) were the one's that were going to bring up weslaco football because he had coached them. when they went 3-7 he didn't talk anymore.

I used to coach 'em in Del Rio back in the day. It was fun but even that young I had a couple of players with attitudes.

I would try to instill the athletes mind frame but some kids were so into the gangsta thing. It sucked but I tried my best to get them to think differently.

gangster kids, IMO, only respond to those that seem a little more "hardened" by life. in other words, they're only gonna respect the authority if the authority is tougher than they are. coaching gangster kids, even wannabe's, is fun because they just don't care. you just have to figure out a way to get to them. once you do that they're on your side forever.

but i don't like the rules in pop warner. game rules are great but sometimes you can end up with a kid who's older playing against a younger kid simply because of the weight difference.

There were alot of key losses in the team.

i know that more than anyone ibp, i was there, but what i'm saying is that he shut up after they didn't produce like he had been saying. i know that team was way more talented than the record showed, it's just too bad that they were sitting in the training room or in street clothes during the games.

Wish the team didnt break up like that. I wonder how far that team would have gone with all the key players on the team. We are talking about the class of 2002 right.

yes that's the class we're talking about. that year with us and them mixed we should've had an AWESOME year. we were 2 or 3 deep at every position with potential starters. it was tough earning a starting job on that team, but that's bucky ball for you.....
