Can oyu just use the phone book without having to open up the whole thing? Nope...thats what I hate about it. And also when I listen to my voicemail I have to open it up to dial voicemail....close it....listen....open it again to put my code...close it listen....etc. So thats the only downside on it but it just gets tiring I guess you can say when you are in a rush I guess. It's good for internet. Its not as bad as some people say. Images are clear....I post here when Im not at home pretty quick. I got it this morning. You can access the phonebook with the screen closed. I have already bookmarked my websites so I don't have to open the screen. It is limited in that you can't upload you're own songs and must purchase from a catalogue, but aside from that, it's really growing on me. I like the onboard mp3 player. I can workout listening to my phone mp3 music and if the phone rings, I can take the call with the push of a button. And most important, I can ALWAYS access the internet...unless I'm in meetings of course!

i worked for tmo for a while...and i bought the blackberry curve...and its not bulky in any sense in comparison to the wing...
specs for curve Weight 3.92 oz (111 g) Dimensions 4.21" x 2.36" x 0.61" (107 x 60 x 15.5 mm)
specs on wing Weight 5.93 oz (168 g) Dimensions 4.3" x 2.3" x 0.7" (109 x 58 x 17.8 mm)
....im not even going to get started on the POS sidekicks....crappy screens and mediocre OS...same goes for the wing...that thing is a brick and windows mobile is for the birds...dont bother...i say buy the curve... this variant of the Curve adds Wi-Fi with UMA, but is otherwise similar to the original 8300 model. Other features of this consumer-oriented BlackBerry include a 2 megapixel camera, music player, stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, and memory card slot
the 3.5 mm headphone jack is a big selling point for most people...

...thats your problem right there...lol
seriously though...try to avoid most CDMA companies .... GSM tech gives more freedom (in a sense) to the consumer...where as CDMA is like a ball and chain lol
and on a global scale...only 15% of the world uses CDMA...

really wasnt meant in a literal sense...more in jest than anything else...
MY POINT IS that despite the fact that raiden likes his phone....it probably is in his best interests to avoid companies like sprint and verizon...economically and technologically speaking... because most gsm carriers receive alot of the new tech out there anywho....due in large to the fact that GSM is a much more profitable market (world wide market)

The sidekick 08 is exactly what I needed. I'm not sure about the OS, but it does have the 3.5 headphone/talk jack, 2 mp camera, video recorder, music player, MicroSD slot with an availalable 4 gb memory stick, stereo bluetooth, email, IM, and web browsing. I was able to do my cardio while reading the forum, listening to mettallica, checking my email, and answering a call. When I get my 4 gb microSD, I may as well retire my ipod. It's also considerably smaller that the LX, and the qwerty keypad is comfortably spaced for a guy like me with big phalanges.
