Your neighbors must have used your water to fill up their swimming pool!

Maybe you need to adjust your timer so you only water your grass once a day............

Sounds more like a leak somewhere. I don't know what your original or last bill was but it does sound a little like you were filling a swimming pool. Have you checking your toilet flappers for a steady drain.
You might also want to check the cost per gallon from this month to the last.

Call your water company. In the wake of Dolly, many companies are "estimating" your bill based on your history. Take your meter reading and call them to come and read it.

Donna water has been consistently raising their price per gallon, im getting raped by North Alamo because they are buying the water from Donna to service their lines south of business 83.....109.00 dollars this month, grass is dying because i dont water it, only thing is wife was washing at least 3 times a week maybe more, but with an HE washer we shouldnt have used that many gallons of water....

No way your water bill should be that high. Like son of corb said check your toilet. Does your toilet run a lot? Then catch it...sorry. Seriously though when I was in college we had several ridiculous water bills like that and it turns out my roommates toilet was always running because the floater thingy wasn't at the right angle so the water never shut off.

I 'bout had a coronary, when I saw my water bill last month at $156, I would have definitely had a heart attack I had your bill. My bill for this month was $64, no changes on either month so I still don't know what might have happened for that bill to be so high. (well it could have been a nasty gram I sent them with my payment. But seriously I think you need to check for a leak somewhere.

I work for one of the Valley's water dept. and this billing cycle we billed the residents the minimum billing, which is for 3000 gallons. The total is $47.82. The following billing cycle, if we undercharged, we will bill for the difference. By the way, I don't work for Donna's water dept. I don't know how they are billing for the water, but it does sound like alot of water usage. Heck, for commercial accounts, our customers get to use up to 10,000 gallons and the cost is only $92.61 and that's a commercial account. It does sound to me that you have a leak. One way to find out on your own (without calling a plumber) is to make sure all faucets are closed, then go to your water meter and see if it's turning. What I mean by turning is...check to see if it continues to mark water...if it is...you either have a leak somewhere or there is something open inside your home with the water running. Good luck.

it could be a small leak....so its best to make sure everything is shut down go outside and record the reading in the meter....wait an hour or so and check to see if the reading has changed....you have to make sure that no one turns anything on during this time though...
