Let me know the specifics on your first scrimmage. Can't wait to get me some live HS football. I thought you were just gonna have one scrimmage like Mission.

I'm sure Longoria won't wanna take you to that monster. ;D ;D ;D ;D I get ur point, just being a little sassy wit u!!! Laredo is horrible. I think our good friends from the Bluff are gonna be going out there a couple of times this season.

We don't have any loredo shools in our district. We do have three Laredo schools. LBJ, Cigarroa and Nixon. In my day:

hey Sting, where's FBFan? I read he was celebrating over in the Fredricksburg area for his relative beating the c illness. Hopefully things will work themselves out and he and family can come out to Mission and have a good time.

He's gonna be back by then. He's just going this weekend and missing the PLC scrimmage. I think if it came to a real game the only thing that would keep him away is if he kicked the bucket and even then I believe he would be floating around the stadium before taking off into the great beyond.

He needs to get on here and start yacking away at this thread. I think I can tell you guys some more of what I'm seeing by week's end as to whether I see potential for the "biggest upset" of week 0 in the state of Texas!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I will say that any team can win any given game if everything comes together for them. That's why it's sports. *You know who* doesn't believe that but we're working on changing their minds...........permanently.

"#99 is God's gift to sports". or "Maybe #99's dad could get a job as an ice road trucker, in Siberia". Nobody says any of this of course but in a kids mind the things that are said morph.

Looks like I am a little slow getting to this party! I checked in sometime back and nada was going on then.
OK, no doubt I will make this game only thing I will miss so far looks like the FB / PLC scrimmage. Frankly no big loss...FB never shows anything at scrimmages. My theory is HC only looks at individuals instead of units at these and it looks like a chinese orchestra sounds. Disjointed as all heck.
Some comments on the size of OL comparisons. FB has no where near the size EP was talking about Mission having with some 290s. FB OL averaged 214 and 6'2" last year and that is about the norm. What they do have going for them is they are in very good shape and can move. More like the Tom Landry philosophy of no rolly pollies just fit guys that can and will slap a knot on your head and boogie all night long brother. FB believes in speed at all spots and as you know speed kills.
Geese can't FB get a moments peace from these Calallen FB wannabes? LOL hey Booger, see you working the crowd.
Now, do not take this wrong.......WE.....played one heck of a game in the playoffs last year and no FB did not take them or anyone else lightly. FB did have an issue to deal with in that game in that their two best run stuffers on the DL were out. No excuses and the subs grew up quickly before that game was over but W.E. was making their life miserable running up the gut first half. The good news for FB is those guys are back for their senior year and I feel sure they feel like they have some unfinished playoff business to take care of this year being denied the opportunity to play in the playoffs last year.
Think that about covers it for now. Really looking forward to this season getting started and our trip to Mission on the 30th. Hope to see ya there cause it's gonna be good.

And I talked to Sting about those dudes being out, just don't recall the reason. I think one of them was sick or and the other in trouble. Correct me if I'm wrong. But dang, that is one small OL in terms of weight. I remember Nikki Rowe had an OL like that with Ronnie Flores and it worked really well. Technique and quickness is really important and that is what I've noticed about the FB OL. Quick to their blocks and held the other guy a good 2 or 3 seconds. Their height also makes it difficult to get away cuz they will give you one last push.
Our our 270 guy is gonna be good. He runs a good 5.0 in the 40 and is really strong. He threw the shot put pretty well and has advanced to state in that event the last two seasons. To add to that he has good lateral movement. The 290 big guy has been a starter for 2 seasons and comes in as a SR. I know he's really strong, but maybe not as mobile.
Well Sting, are you going to the PLC scrimmage?
Oh and yeah, Booger is everywhere adding life to this forum. It's all good.

does mission have a good defense? I've been told they have a pretty good defense, but don't know for sure. I will see when we scrimmage against SB. If they hold up against SB, then I feel we will be able to hold up pretty well against any RGV competition. FB remains a mystery, but I do know they have lots of great athletes in their program. I just hope our defense can hold on the passing game, cuz you don't wanna get riddled via the air all night long. The FB qb is a great passer with good stats that he accumulated in merely half a season. This is gonna be a very big, big test for our defense.

well i know for a fact that mission has a quick secondary but idk anything about the d-line and linebackers In the secondary we should have Justin, Joaquin, Gumaro, and Adrian. All of those guys are really fast. The LB are gonna be bigger and a lot stronger than last year and are all pretty fast. The DL is gonna be pretty good. Been told they all run 5.0 or faster and average about 210. This D should be pretty good. Now this is all individual stuff, but will they be good as a unit. I think they will. Look for Joaquin to pick off anywhere from 6-10 ints this year. The guy is an extraordinary ball hawk
