i should know first hand i was on the team..it just kills you knowing that your offense puts up about 30 points a game just to lose at the end Man, I really hope the Patriots get it done this year. There were some close ones that got away last year. Especially the Weslaco East and Edcouch Elsa games. Those were season killers.. Ouch. The same way we lost to you guys on 1st and goal at the 1/2 foot line and we cannot punch it in only to have Tovar come up with a miraculous catch on 4th and 24 to put the game away. Man those hurt, I know!!!

They are going in as a the big school reps just like Vets/Mission will if we both qualify for the playoffs. You guys play H. South on Friday and this game is on Saturday. FYI!!!

I'll stop by to check you guys out. And of course, you will not want to sleep. It's your first day of Spring Ball. What time do you guys report to the field?

It will be pretty different, more balanced O, less reliant on a single individual. Much more unpredictable. Better D line, extremely stout powerful deliverers of punishment. Very good DB's, blazing fast and they will bring the wood. CLB of 2 years back, Mark Soto is shoes hard to fill but I know these boys at LB and they are serious fearless competitors. I know the Bluff will bring a very tough D and probably a more pro style offense with that drop back passer you all have. You may wanna hope he has some good escapability cuz I feel we will bring some pretty good pressure up the middle and with the LBs, too. You say he is gonna stand and deliver the pass and if he can do that, then we will probably not be able to stop you guys at all, especially with all CC Bend RB you guys bring. Bring em on in........ How many screen variations do we have?

Or maybe we'll just go with a zone/read defense which I don't really like in high school.

you know the weird thing about Flour Bluff is that despite their athletic ability you never really see that big Tackle type or power running type offensive line, lot more bootleg, play action roll out type stuff. sometimes all you needed was a guy to hold a hole for a second when you had McCorkle running through it

Didn't look beefy but just big enough to hold you for a second or two. That is a credit to their coach for using rollouts and bootlegs to buy some time.

But really.....FB has had a tall skinny bunch of offensive linemen in recent years. Somehow all those long lanky limbs got interlaced forming a web that penetrating defenders got snagged in. Thats why they had to run the ball outside all the time. This year it looks to me like the O-line will slow the defense up by eating the pregame meal at the taco stand across from the high school and deploying poison gas.

I'll tell the guys to wear gas masks as well.
