I hear it all the time............
How can Brownsville team continue to get pounded by Los Fresnos with the amount of kids Brownsville has................etc...etc..
The problem is this:
In a one HS town, Los Fresnos, all three Jr High schools are running the spread. By the time these kids get to play Varsity, they will have anywhere from 3-4 years running the same offense.
In Brownsville, you have kids in Jr. High that will be sent different high schools. So what offense do they learn? The try to zone the jr highs based on where they are going to HS, but it doesn't work.
So they enter HS having to learn an offense only having 1 or 2 years.
So they line up against Los Fresnos, against kids that have been running the 'spread' in 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th grade.
This year Los Fresnos will have 5 starters that have been on Varsity since their Sophomore year. Good athletes or understand the "Spread' better or both?

i doubt thats the reason... i mean alot of those ppl on the board have memories of the Btown high program that would dominate football... some of them are getting up there in age and relieved thier youth throught thier kids mabe on that Rivera team of the past or the Hanna team of the 90's, but are about getting tired of this emarasment they call football program in the district... it doestnt end there though... even in Bball where Btown schools would dominate you are begining to see a debacle... you cant tell me that all these kids are goigng to the soccer program... if anything... none to a few of them are.. but not at the rate that would cause mens sports(cause i dont know much about there woman programs) to see such a drop in performance..
even in the past.. kids from other schools would notice which HS would be a better team in the coming years and would transfer after JR.High.. and btown woudl have at least one very competitive HS that would make it far into the playoffs where the community of btown caould all support... it isnt hapening anymore and the public has just about had it.. dont blame them either... but its going to take alot to remove JOEROD and i dont think this flare up is going to do it... to much politics.. JOEROD is part of the old gaurd... OLD MONEY

It's true but with some new pee-wee and junior football programs that have opened up I hope they help the kids get a better understanding of the game so when they go into Junior High they wont be teaching the game anymore just learning the offenses.

Just wait for the first home game in Brownsville, Joe will show up intoxicated and then the district can fire him. JK (Please don't get mad Joe, I was only kidding)
