Which offense was it and how far was your school able to go in the playoffs? How productive was it?

In 1995 Calallen scored 770 points in 15 games while giving up 156 points. It is still an all-time 4-A record.

Sorry, unrelated question... Is there a football play that is NOT designed to score?

Sorry, unrelated question... Is there a football play that is NOT designed to score? Yes. The punt and the kickoff. Really, there are many plays that are designed to just pick up a certain number of yards. They are referred to as situational plays. 4th and short at midfield. You only need a half yard. You line up in the power set and bull your way for a couple. Successful play. Some other plays are to set up a potential scoring play. Bait the defense with a couple of running plays out of a certain formation, then throw out of that same formation for the big play. That is why the coach carries a card that has all the plays grouped for certain down and distance situations.

I loved our Wing-T days, we ran on everyone, including the games we lost to La Marque. BUT, the spread got Calallen to the promise land, just didn't win it. Problem with the Spread is you get a lot of 3 and outs if your qb is off on a particular day. When we ran the ball, we controlled it, and averaged 5-9 yards a play. Haven't had the hogs lately, but as Catfromwayback stated, this year we have some earthmovers!

Right, but even the short yardage play, if drawn up on the chalkboard, has everybody blocking somebody. Therefore, if everybody does gets their block, it should score. The only reason why a play wouldn't be designed to score, is if offensive players are double teaming somebody or your backside O-lineman are not blocking down field.
