In terms of athleticism, I thought Jordan was better before his first retirement, when he could dunk from the free throw line. He had some of the most incredible dunks and athletic ability I've ever seen. As an overall player, yeah I thought he was better in the 2nd 3 peat. Actually got to see them(Bulls) play in SA during their last year together. He was still basically putting up the same numbers as before and I remember the announcers used to say he was better because he was a smarter player as he got older. Also remember Jerry Stackhouse taunted him through the press in his rookie year at Philly that he could take Jordan easily before their game and then Jordan putting up 45 points and toying with Stackhouse throughout the game. I always wondered how prime Jordan would have fared against Lebron too. I was at that Bulls-Spurs game at the Alamodome in 98. I had nosebleed seats but it was just to say that I saw Jordan play in person. Jordan had a ho-hum night, 30 pts. I sat in the upper level too but first row. However, I got to go to courtside during the Bulls warmups and got pictures of Jordan, Rodman, and Co. and they came out great. I think that was the only regular season game to sell out the Alamodome ever. The game was in March '98 but was already sold out 5 months earlier when the schedule came out. My favorite part was when Jordan would shoot free throws during the game and the WHOLE dome would explode in camera flashes. Also loved when Jordan stuffed Duncan and the fans went crazy. I think half the crowd was Bulls fans, including myself. I was only disappointed that he didn't have a dunk in the game, though Pippen had one pretty nasty dunk late in the game. I remember that clearly. The Bulls back then were like a famous rock star group. I got to see Jordan play again in 2002 when he was with the Wizards. He and Bruce Bowen almost got into it because of Bowen's rough defense. Anyways, Jordan wasn't the same then but I at least got to see him play twice.
