that's what they're supposed to be for, but in live scrimmages, nobody does that and you know it......

I was there... but left early. Too much excitement for one night. The JV and Freshman had moderate success...
Approx. scores: JV: EE 3 -- GP 2 Fish: EE 5 -- GP 1

Just thought the EE Offense would score more than 2 TD's considering they got a good amount of returners at the skill positions....how was the oline's performance? 1 of EE's weaknesses from last season was the Oline just curious to know if they were able to provide nino with the time to throw the ball, plus hes got a huge target in Tanguma.

sounds like one heck of a defensive game Or no offense.... i think it was better defense. but like they stated, EE had 2 dropped passes that couldve been touchdowns. but you live and you learn and thats what scrimmages are for.

Now this is just hearsay because I'm getting my info from a couple of different GP folks who were at the scrimmage. But it sounds like both teams went in and played well defensively. Neither team showed a whole lot on offense because there were scouts from other teams checkin out the scrimmage. Gp was able to move the ball through the air but E-E's Defense was pretty stout against the run. E-E did manage to move the ball some but a couple of dropped passes probably could have changed the outcome. Both teams turned the ball over at least once, not sure on the exact number. All in all I'd say both teams had success in this scrimmage and both teams come out of this one better than they were yesterday. No major injuries suffered as far as I can tell, but a couple of bumps and bruises on both teams.

Plenty of time to throw the ball... although there were a couple coverage sacks. (neither team was blitzing). So GP was only sending 3 guys and dropping everyone else into coverage (on passing situations).

Like I said earlier, both teams have room for improvement. Although I can't speak for GP, I will say that this is EE's first scimmage, so you have to imagine that they are still greasing up some of those tight joints.

Well I'm not going to sit here and say that I didn't care if the Jackets won or not because I would be lying. But I'm glad that we didn't open up the entire play book as there were scouts from other teams we are facing in the near future. All in all I hope this scrimmage did help the Jackets for next week and beyond.
