EDCOUCH-ELSA 7, GREGORY-PORTLAND 7: At Gregory, the Yellowjackets played the state's No. 11 4A team to a standstill and gained more confidence and preparation for their season-opening trip to Corpus Christ Calallen next week. Edcouch-Elsa won the controlled portion of the scrimmage 1-0 but lost the open part 7-6. "We stayed up with them. We dropped two passes that would have gone for touchdowns and it would have been a different story," ‘Jackets coach Joe Solis said. "It's good for us. Coming up this week against Calallen will be a big game for us. I thought it was good. It was a good experience for us." www.rgvsports.com/articles/harlingen_2525___article.html/first_team.htmlapparently someones info is incorrect....is it the newspaper or the CC peeps?

Why is there no information on both of these teams performances tonight? Where's everyone at tonight? it's just like when hugo won't take calls from fans of the teams that beat the jackets. it's not just something that he does, it's an EE thing. the one's who went to the game haven't gotten back yet but i'm sure the one's that didn't go have the scoop but don't want to post it. it's cool EE, it's just a scrimmage. still sounds like a pretty good game

Here is the correct score: Controlled EE 1 - GP 1 Regulation EE 6- GP 7 (missed XP).
EE struck first on the first or second play of the controlled scrimmage with a 50+ yard TD run by Roger Garcia. Both offenses went limp after that. With the 2nd unit, GP put together a good drive and managed to punch it in. Shortly thereafter regulation play started. I forget who scored, but ultimately the game was decided by a missed extra point. EE showed a lot of new things, but not quite everything as there were scouts from Calallen and Mercedes at the game. They also managed to work in a lot of the younger players. Both teams had their shining moments and downfalls. Overall a good game and maybe even a little preview of what we might see in November.

Sounds like both teams took advantade and tested the non-starters to see how good the bench is.

Which is what scrimmages are supposed to be for... of course there is always that little competitive drive in you that always wants to come out on top, even though it is just a "warm-up" game.
