Any GP / CC area peeps have and insight of GP team. Who they bring back, what to expect? Any prediction on outcome of this scrimmage. Is it gonna be live in the 2nd half? Give us your thoughts. Any one attending?

Any one attending? I want to go, but don't know if I should take a day off for a scrimmage. GP has all their skill position players back this year. Also, GP's O-line will be stout. I got these numbers from another GP poster- Center- Moffett, 6'1 250 bench 350, squat 550 Tackle- Budda, 6'3 270 bench 325, squat 500 Tackle- Chance,6'7 310 bench 325, squat 505 Guard- Ben, 5'9 220 bench 375, squat 550 Guard- Rob, 5'10 215 bench300, squat 475 As far as the scrimmage goes, Harris uses these scrimmages gauge players in thier position. This will not be a winner and a loser type scrimmage. Both teams will be better because of this scrimmage! No injuries.

I totally agree with both teams coming out better from this scrimmage. That's a good size OL. I will try to make it out there. This looks to be a good match up on the trenches with E-E depth on DL and LB core.

I heard that our LB's are small except for the ML. If anybody has an Idea let me know about who will be playing safety and RB this year?

I don't think anyone will know until the season starts. i'm sure the underclassmen are still battling it out for that rb spot

scoop on gp, they have some speed, guys who have been on varsity for a few years now and a semi-rebuilt offensive line. slow on the dline, decent at Lb and don't know about the dbs. If the pass isn't working for them, which means if they throw two incompletions in a row, Harris will go old school and just pound it all night, some teams can stop the misdirection (us) some teams can't.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the few times I have seen GP, they seem to be primarily a running team- it was very rare that I saw their qb actually throw the ball.

Well we all know how E-E beat up on the Bend in 7 on 7 in Alice so E-E's aerial attack will be just as good if not better than any of their opponents!

www.youtube.com/watch?v=n2HvZVpIK3E#10 is a fast slippery ball carrier. Stop him and you've stopped over 50% of their offense. But your just playing a scrimmage. It's not about winning, it's about exploring your own team.

Last year after the EE/Edinburg scrimmage, the Bobcats "won" and all of a sudden their fans were all over The Monitor comment pages bragging about how they trounced the Jackets. Unfortunately, that was the only thing they won last year! EE on the other hand, went on to lose to an excellent Weslaco team by one point and went another season undefeated in district play and became district champs once again.

OK OK +1 elprofe E-E did pretty good last time they met GP in the playoffs on stopping their run. E-E DB's got burned a lot last year, but showed some good stuff at times. One more year under their belts will do them a lot of good. We might just meet up on GP in the playoffs again.

Beeville to return the favor for last year's playoff lost and PLC just for the fun of it. Although, I don't think, for some reason, that PLC is going to make it past the first round.

Scrimmages are always good...especially against teams you don't get to face until you get to the playoffs...great experience before hand...especially on matchups... GP has some strong linemen. Get the most out of it EE.

Last night there were several EE coaches scouting the Gp scrimmage. I find it odd that EE coaches would be scouting Gp for a scrimmage! Any EE peeps know anything or have any thoughts?
