“Please look at me,” Trevino stated when asked if he had one thing to say to recruiters. “I just want to go to college and play somewhere for someone.” damn. this line really got to me, because our kids deserve better than this. Alex got more talent than alot of RBs around Texas that probably dont have to lift a finger to get noticed. Im really pulling for Alex to tear it up this season (except against EE  ) You can tell the kid flat out loves football and deserves a shot at the next level. |

The further any RGV team advances in the post-season, the higher the chances of a scout finding a player, thus placing interest in a team for further recruits.
It's difficult to swallow, but eventually, all the Youtube hoopla will only go so far as every prospect will have a video posted and "highlighted" to where, eventually, something extremely spectacular has to jump out at the viewer/scout to become noticed.
Unfortunately, the only logical way for our boys to get noticed is to have the RGV consistently run deep in the playoffs; Playing Austin Westlake did the Springer brothers good, didn't it?

make a highlight video and address it to the head coach of whatever school you want to go to. find out his home mailing address if you have to. it's up to the player. most coaches will help, but since they don't need you anymore, they won't be as interested to help you as much. go out and do it on your own...

Alex will need to have a big year in order to get some good looks, he needs to have about 1500 yards rushing, 400 yards receiving and some good special teams runs
he needs to run tough in between the tackles and continue to beat the defender to the corner in order to show all facets of his game
Alex is a big kid that is about 5'10" and 170 so he has the body the are looking for but he needs a very big season in football in order to get a football scholarship
The Track thing is a given if he so chooses

valleysports, if they ran him in the middle more, he'd get a lot more looks, and i truly believe, a lot more yards. they don't do it enough though. personally i'd like to see him going out for passes. he's a great running back but getting him out in space against a smaller defender would mean good things for the tigers....

Damn WP I think that is the first thing you have posted on here that I completely agree with. But valleysports is right Alex needs a big year, I believe that if he stays healthy he will have that big year.
