OK guys...so I am planning on buying either a PS3 or a 360 by the end of the week...it will be my birthday/graduation present from me to me...with the help of some money that I've been saving up for some time now. This will be my first console and it will be an investment in my part. I've decided that I've worked hard for it and I now can buy one...I just finished my first semester as a Graduate Student and currently working to pay for my next 2 years of Grad School...so this will be a short pay-off to keep me motivated while working my butt off all sumer long and into the next few years till I graduate once more.
So question is...PS3 or 360.....then NCAA or Madden???
Which ones would you choose and why....

PS3...
Make sure you have an HDTV regardless... 1st reason...Blu Ray 2nd Reason...No red rings of death 3rd reason...free online play
Madden...I don't play NCAA much...I just like using my favorite teams.

PS3 dude. I have one and it's awesome. I'am currently playing Ninja Gaiden. Awesome game and the attack combos are out of this world.

I have both systems . . . get the 360. Better games overall. Better online service (you get what you pay for).
RRoD is getting rare with the new systems.
Xbox Live + Netflix = win
MS has loads of cash to throw at the 360. Sony has next to nothing to throw at the PS3.
Madden o8 has framerate issues on the PS3. Not sure if it was fixed for 09.

the only plus side to the 360 that i have so far is price, online game play and the fact that all my friends have the 360 so I can bum games off of them....however they just bought ps3 as well....but with the exceptions of a few games, both consoles offer the same games....
on the ps3, you do get a blue ray player....oh and free online play...however from what I hear, online play is only for a few games...and lets face it it just came out...and since it is free, i dont want to know what type of servers they are being hosted on...
so far...im thinking xbox on the account of $100 bucks cheaper at $300...plus bumming some games off of my friends....it seems that everyone is recommending madden...so now im thinking of getting ncaa as a fix and then trading it in and getting madden when it comes out....hmm....definitely xbox is winning...and yeah, RRoD is almost gone in the new systems...
so...as of now, im thinking xbox!

ps3 buddy if you know what's good for ya! xbox might look more enticing now, but ps3 will be launchinga ton of new games and will end up with more than the xbox by the end of next year. plus blu ray, the whole playstation entertainment package. and get ncaa with it, way more fun running more types of offenses.

Let it be known that IF you choose Madden, the 09 version is coming out August 12th. Not quite sure if you want the new one, or want to get the discounted 08 version.
Anyways, I have a 360 with Madden 08, and I think it has been great. Awesome graphics (although NOTHING compared to what 09 looks like) and good gameplay. My friend has a PS3 with Madden 08, and while it is the same game, it definetly does not run as well on the PS3. It is very choppy and slow. However, I am sure they will fix this for 09.
You can't really go wrong with NCAA either. However, in years past, any year I buy NCAA, it always seems to collect dust after Madden comes out.
XBox 360 & Madden 09 is my recommendation.

I have been recently playing PS3 NCAA 09 online and its been good and plus GT4 online is da game right now along with a couple of other games.. I WOULD GO FOR THE PS3 !! you are better off getting a ps3 because...
- ps3 has a built-in blu-ray player
-ps3 supports 1.3 HDMI which has rich colors and xbox supports 1.2 HDMI
- ps3 has much more and better exclusives, most of them cant go to xbox 360 because it cant handle that many data(DVD- 8.5gb, blu-ray 50gb)
- because of the blu-ray's huge space, ps3 will have WAY better graphics than 360
- online is free for ps3 not like 360
- ps3 will have over 300 games released by this fall and next year
- you can browse the internet on ps3, no such thing for xbox 360
- when developers get used to the system, the graphics will be WAY better than 360. should take them a year to get used to it
- developers stated that they will start using ps3 as the lead platform and port ps3 games to xbox
- playstation home is coming out this spring, its a virtual community where you can hang out with friends and customize your own apartment which xbox doesnt have(FREE)
- ps3 is a true HD console. xbox 360 upscale games to 1080p and ps3 DISPLAY games up to 1080p
- built in Wi-Fi
- xbox 360: 33% hardware failure ps3: .2% hardware failure(see the decimal? less than 1%!)
- ps3 has better back-comp except the 40gb
- rumble returns in spring 2008
- you can upgrade your harddrive without voiding warranties with any 2.5 HDD, which xbox cant because you have to buy a xbox HDD (they actually have the step by step on how to upgrade it on playstation.com)
those are the ones that i know right off my mind but there are much more reason than this
Now I want you to do me a favor, list all the reasons why xbox is better than ps3. I PROMISE you that nobody will get at least 5 reasons
Prices as of today: ps3- 80gb: $499 with motorstorm 40gb: $399 with spiderman 3 blu-ray xbox 360(premium)- $349 (elite)- $449 if you want the accessories that ps3 comes with them
i currently own the ps3 60gb version i have had no problems i purchased it within the 1st month it came out!!

well..im not really worried about HD or 1080P as i am a poor college student and cant really afford to buy a new TV right away...now once I start working where I should be working I will probably get all systems a bad butt tv and like a gaming comp with at least 4 wide screens (total geek/nerd here)....but for now i want something to keep me going for 2 more years!

The XBox 360 premium (20GB) is actually $300 now, not $350. If you buy it at Wal-Mart, it includes a 3 month membership to XBox Live.
