well we know the valley will get to the 3rd round for sure...but I would go with a 3A-1A team to go the furthest! FYI,5A valley teams will be facing a SA school,sooner than the 3rd round. The UIL moved S.A Southwest to district 29-5A with the Laredo Schools.An interesting note is that Southwest finished their season 11-1 & their only loss was to eventual state finalist Converse Judson (16-24)in the second round. What he meant by that was that Valley 5A schools face each other in the playoffs up until the third round. While 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A schools face schools from the Coastal Bend and further north. |

And by the way, CHAVEZ IS THE REAL DEAL. And first hand knowledge tells me he has gotten over his sophomoric mistakes in the classroom and will really shine this year. Come close to what, winning district? The tigers were shutout in the second half of the EE game. The ONLY fact here is that to be the CHAMP you have to beat the CHAMP. Mercedes has to be careful with that kicking the door in attitude because if its a swinging door it will come back and SMACK you in the mouth. |

Remember this, to be the best you have to beat the best and that also applies to Santa Rosa and any other H.S. football program. To beat the best is to succeed.
