lost in all the calallen vs EE talk is the Calallen vs Los Fresnos game. I hear some say this may be a tougher game. What do yall think? YOU CAN BET ON IT... sure EE/cal has had some tough games but Cal has always managed to win... both teams know each other, but i feel theEE Cal game is about redemption... (on EE's part).... i plan to go to EE and see it, but yo are right... for Cal , LF is the team they have to really be dailing in... for one they have been the best team in the Valley the past two years, and have built a strong program under Coach Ford... the reckless/diciplined mentallity maybe an oxymoron but thats just how LF plays... 4th and 7 is not a certain punting situation only cause LF knows it has the talent, the offencsive scheme, and the this next year the D to hold if its not converted... I have been asking myself the same ? you have, but dont expect to see a Cal/LF thread ay time soon.. at least not made by an LF fan... LF is hungry for Cal but not for redemption, but for a gauge.... every person in LF expects to beat Cal.. just like they would expect to beat EE (if they would accept)... youll have modest ppl on here, but im not one.. ill talk trash when due time comes, but here in lil ol LF... we mean busiess... this yyear i finnally see from myteam something they have been lacking... we've always had that fire.. but with that the players have an anger i only sae in eloy and mario last year... that loss to reagan is on everyones minds... Honestly players think and jnow that that loss should not have happened... As for Cal... LF will be looking to make a point... and Cal is the first out of valley team they are looking to take that rage out on... LF will not be gearing p for Cal like EE is doing .. hence the extreamly early EE/Cal thread... they are preparing to dismantle 32-5a and make a statement with Cal... (ok i think im trash talking now)...  |

the third round has left a bitter taste in the mouth of the LF players and its fans...
I agree with you Buzzard... BABY STEPS ARE FOR BABIES.... and LF is nolonger a toddler in the 5a scene... expect LF to be a little meaner this year... ala Aniken Skywalker;s transformation into Darth Vader... I think LF's Hells Bells needs a little more depth and heavyness.. Matllica's For Whom the bell tolls would be more apropreiate... just my O... maybe both should be played...
I think it is a transformation that is happening which was long needed... this new additude that has come over the team ... Anger is an emotion. Like all emotions, it is neither good nor bad; like all emotions, it affects the reason. Controlled Anger is anger which does not overpower the reason. therefore anger is an emotion that can be harnessed to give a team, a player, a city empowerment...
case studdies have shown that the suppression of anger can lead to , self depression, self attack, self sabotage, and self destruction, (Handbook of Anger Managment)... anger funeled correctly onto a median, function, or work (in this case the football game) it can be used to release all energy that would of other wise been self damaging...
so thier is a scientific explanation for this anger and its proper use... LF does feel anger and will use it not in a rage, but use it to systematically heal our pain... in this case the 3rd round blues...

its not Cal's fault if they are overlooking LF. Ya'll almost never made the playoffs while in 4A so how would they know about LF?

no i really wasnt trying to talk trash or anything. I was being serious. I think the last time LF and Cal met up was probably in the 90s and it was a massacre. Thats why this game is lost in all the EE/Cal game.

i dont think Cal expects to see the same LF team, unlike much of oyourfeinds over at ee who think LF is the same team that it was in the 90's... like booger said.. many expect lf's game to be tougher/.. thats not overlooking to me... and i have yet to hear from them... well.. we beat you in the 90's and massacred you back then and expect to do the same, unlike many ee fans think...
i think booger is on here to find out info on lf, b/c yes of the lack of meeting we have with them, but also uderstanding that whatever his knowledge about lf is no longer relevent...

I'll put it simply. I believe that last year taught Calallen to never take ANY team lightly. Up until the LT game, the Cats convincingly handled thier toughest opponents, but stumbled frequently in games they SHOULD have won easily. ALOT of those same kids are back with that knowledge. This year's Cats are smart, determined, and goal oriented. You won't see overconfidence, but you will see confidence and a focused team not overlooking or taking lightly ANY opponent. They will practice and prepare for every opponent from EE until our last playoff game just the same. We have no superstars. No individuals. We have a true team that will give all they have for thier teammates and coaches. They are smart enough to know they have to in order to be successful.

we are not worrying about any team.... not PSJA, not Cal.... aree they going to prepare for them absolutly like any team does, just better thats all... but worrying... plzzz..
like i said.. youur not going o see a Cal/Lf thread started any time soon from an LF fan.. maybe if booger starts one sure , but you wont see many Lf posters posting on it.. not even myself... we have scrimmages to think about, yes.. Psja and mercy.. Cal's thread will come in due time... booger is out here looking for info on Lf b/c he does not expect the same LF team from a dozen years back.. i dont understand why ee fans do... but whatever makes you all feel better, go ahead and run with it... The Family has a purpose, a little anger in ther eyes,, and an attitude that has taken some time to come forth... this goes for the whole season not just Cal.. Cal is jsut one more team on the schedule one more opponent in the way... a big obstacle but one none the less that must be overcome,,,
the more and more i see thses kids.. the more i smile... seems they are tired of being the good ol boys... and i dont blame them... the let teh best team win attitude is out the window...

Hey i got family that lives and attended thier at Cal.. not an expert in cal... but do know Cal has had some pressure to win in the playoffs, last few years hasnt cut it... and like here in LF, Cal's playoff experiances have had a bitter taste... more is expected from both teams this year..AM I CORRECT... this year Cal has singed to play LF and EE... which i consider the two best teams in the valley hands down... all i am going to say is to not expect a LJ/Sb type football game..

Needless to say, we are not San Bene nor are we La Joya. We don't presume yall to be, and trust me, calallen will approach the game knowing it's in a hostile environment. Nothing new for this program! |
