Power is still out in most of Harlingen. At my house we lost power at about 10 am yesterday, and it is still out. Sucks cause I have like 10 peeps there, but I'm at work.

We had a couple of power outages last night, but that's it. I lost 1 shingle and 1 of my trees was tipped a little. I straightened it up. I'll check on the roof later. All in all, it was pretty mild for us in Mission.

sad news from mercy. I just evacuated my family from my home. As I left, water was in my guarage and about to enter my house. I was able to put most of my furniture up on something, but my bedroom furniture will be history. It's still raining pretty hard so i expect several more inches before it ends. Just in the time i was trying to evacuate, the water rose about 1 foot. Not good news at all. Even worse, I couldn't get the motor home out. There was toooooo much water and high winds. Please keep me and my family in your prayers. Keep us posted on your situation? Are you heading to a shelter? I took the familty to my sister's house in town. I think they that area was one of the few in Mercy that still had electricity. I went out this morning to look at the damage. My house looks like it's in the middle of a lake. About 2=3 inches of water came in and is still all over the house. It doesn't seem to be going nowhere. I may have standing water for several days or weeks. It's not going to be pretty.

You are insured, right?

Very sorry to hear that Red. I lost two huge trees in my yard, and another big limb broke off and hit the corner of the house, I haven't been able to asses the damage yet, but at least that corner of the roof didn't leak.

it's $3.77 in Harlingen, but I saw on the 12 o'clock news that with out electricity no gas was being pump. And there was a long line of cars waiting for gas.

Looking @ the radar, Brown-Town is practically in the clear as of 4am. What's the good word xlobo? Aint no good word down here. We lost power about 6am this morning but when back on at around 12pm. IDK why we lost power if the rain stopped and the winds werent as bad. Maybe PUB was messing with some stuff IDK.

My grandparents live on levee street here in brownsville and the fire dept. told them they will be without electricity for about 2 weeks because some huuuge pine trees fell on some wires and the wires are all torn and on the ground. A TV of theirs starting smoking at one point Overall everything ok on the northside of brownsville. Southmost got alot of damage and they had to rescue people because of flooded homes Many of the big trees were uprooted and the small tress were just gone and down the street.

I'm still out of the Valley, but my friend told me he had to report to work -- McAllen ISD Central Kitchen -- because electricity had gone out and they had to move stuff to schools or something like that so things wouldn't spoil...
