i went to one EE game this past year, but the stands were pretty empty..... I went to that game, too and actually sat on the EE visitor's side. Many of the fans that were there were from Weslaco East as WE needed EE to win in order for them to get into the playoffs. I was really disappointed in the size of the EE crowd that night. I had very good seats for this game and plenty of room to spare. |

To be honest alot of Jacket fans have gotten spoil. They probably thought that the game was a given because of Vets record. Who ever did go will be kicking themselves for a long time. The ending of this game should go down as on of the greatest ending of a game for La Maquina. The 4th Qt. went back and forth. Vets played on hell of a game like a time posses.
La Maquina came into this game taking Vets very likely and they almost paid for it.

Calallen will is a question mark this year after a very lackluster year,,,,,,they have the potential , i believe, to be one of the best teams since the mid 90's,,,,but it will take some real committment from the players and coaches. All i can say for sure is, i dont believe the team that looses this game will be done for the year.

I truly think EE's fan base will come back to the numbers it had before the Jackets played Weslaco last year. Of course, anybody's fan-base would be inflated after 30 something wins. Why was their a decline in the # of fans? The answer isn't that difficult to figure out... a lot of those fans that stopped coming were fans that hadn't been going to EE game in a LONG time. Also, there were even a lot of football fans that weren't even from E-E, that would go see the Jackets play. lol uh huh .. What were you saying earlier about excuses .. |

I'm not trying to "dis" Cal, ( I 'm beginning to sound like my students), but I find that hard to believe. I always thought the Cal teams of the 90's were alot stronger than those of the recent era. What do you think? I know they went to the semis 8 previous times, but why didn't they go farther in the past? |
