I am so glad the season is getting closer and closer. The only regret is not playing the falcons from lost fresnos. The topics would always get good when it was getting close to game time. Guess it might be time for some friendly wagers with those peeps from ee.

With a tough scrimmage and preseason schedule, the players should be warmed up and ready to go come the season opener. Hopefully, they take it one game at a time because with the defense they have and the offense they hope they have, they could make A LOT of noise this year. I have a feeling it is going to be a very, very good year.

Wow Cards have been playing football since before WWI! The only other team that I know of that I just found out this week starting playing officially in 1911 Was the Cuero Gobblers. www.cuerorecord.com/articles/2008/08/06/sports/sports1.txtOh and I didn't want to fail to mention that IMHO Harlingen Cardinals have a one of a kind program in the RGV, top 3.

I noticed that yesterday. I emailed my friend who went to Cuero, their Football History.

Oh yeah,
I wish someone from the Valley Morning Star would write an article like that about the Cardinals.
That was a great article for Cuero.

Dude, Harlingen played some stiff competition in the early years and did an outstanding job. Way to go Cards. Shoot, they even played SR back in the day. That's a surprise. I didn't know that. Awesome history for the mighty Cards.

It certainly does go back quite a ways. A lot of peeps outside of harlingen don't like to hear all the tradition talk that harlingen does but the way coaches talk about past teams to current players make the players now want to win because it is expected. You don't want to let people down around town because most of them once played for the team. I always think that tradition really helps a program along. Kids enter the program and expect to win. That is half the battle already.
