Would it be hard to compile a list of head to head records of PI vs the current 32-3A district, and possibly 10 other teams like La Joya , Los Fresnos, EE, Sharyland, and a handful of playoff teams non-valley teams like sinton, cuero, sealy, etc?

I know this is old...but it's hard to ignore. Just how PI has dominated RH in the past. RH dominated PI from 1950-1973...about 23 years. PI dominated RH from 1974-1998...24 years before RH could beat PI...in '99 and '00...then it took another four years for RH to beat PI again.
And then it's been back and forth the past four years....I like this rivalry.

That first game in 1990 was against a Mexican school, well, college actually.
Frailes del Colegio Tepeyac, which translates to "The Friars of Tepeyac College".
The score IS correct, though. But I think (not 100% sure on this) the game had to be forfeited because of an ineligible player.

It's updated to include the above team as well as a couple of Raymondville scores I didn't previously have. Only 15 missing scores out of 634 total (97.6% complete)

I pretty much know a lot about these years so:
1978- RB Travis Sanders holds valley records
1979- RB Henry Holland 1,100 yards 1st RB in PI history to start a quarterfinal game 1st team all district 2nd team all valley 2nd team all region
1980- DB Rumaldo Ortiz 1st team all district 2nd team all state or DE Shorty LeBlanc 1st team all district 2nd team all valley
1981- QB Donald Guillot 1st QB to get PI to the semi's

The fact is stated here PI HAS beaten us more often...but we've beaten PI more often than everybody else in the district....therefore we were always meant to be rivals. CUE the PI folks. cause Los Fresnos isn't moving down to 4A and PI isn't moving up anytime soon to 4A. So, settle in your seats and let's enjoy it. I know RH folks are.

Remember RH has just recently picked it up, so it didnt seem like a rivalry for a long time, La Feria and Los Fresnos had that distinction the last 10-15 yrs. I for one am sold that it is the begginning of a good rivalry. PI rivalries with both LFs will get replaced by RH and EE... IMO.

True...but you have to understand that Los Fresnos WAS our rival too...along with PI. You can ask some older Los Fresnos folks and Rio Hondo folks. RH and LF usually were good games back then. I think the last time RH and LF played there was a huge fight and the administrators from both school elected not to play each other for 10 yrs or so. RH never got to play Los Fresnos ever again.

There are many reasons why PI fans, (well, I) don’t see RH as a rivalry game. The first is the obvious, the extended duration between RH victories. I was born in ‘77, from the day I was born until 4 years after I graduated high school RH failed to garnish a victory. Another reason is due to the fact that many of the victories PI had over RH through my senior year were at best, lopsided.
As far as seeing La Feria as more of a rival well, they have always played us tough. Even though they don’t have as many victories as RH, I still see them as more of a rival than RH. Why, you may ask, simple. During the ’89 season both PI and LaF had 1 loss each (Sharyland) when we met in the season finale. LaF pulled off the upset and bounced PI from the playoffs. The first time PI missed the playoffs in well over a decade. 10 years later PI and LaF again met in the season finale, again the Lions were able to pull off the victory. Now, remember that PI has made the playoffs what 28 out of the last 30 seasons. And La Feria is responsible for bouncing us both times. Yes RH did beat us in ’99 as well, but there was not as much on the line as there was going into the LaF game. Losing the season finale and not making the playoffs, leaves a very bitter taste in your mouth. With the exception of last year, for as long as I have been alive, RH has never left that disgusting taste in my mouth. You may ask what about ’05? Well, ’05 really was not a very good year. I mean we started that season at 0-5, and 3-5 going into the RH game, a game that went into OT, and PI lost by missing an xtra-point after scoring a TD.
Can you see / understand why, I am reluctant to label this as a rivalry. I’ve been around for 31 years and in those years RH has only beat us 3 times. (’99; ’05; ’07) While yes RH has had a couple of good teams the past 4 or 5 years, I have learned that La Feria, Sharyland, Lyford, Hidalgo, heck even Raymondville has put together a string of a few good years. But you don’t see them kicking and screaming about how or why they are our rivals as RH does. Maybe this has to do with this site. Maybe, had this site been around when they challenged PI they’d be on here talking up a storm like the RH peeps are.
I can understand why you are quick to label this as a rivalry. Simply put, you and all RH KNOWS that in order to get recognition you have to beat PI. YOU KNOW that in order to even have a prayer at a DC you have to beat PI. YOU KNOW that in order to label you season a success you have to beat PI.
You see if PI loses to RH, the season is a disappointment, but if we beat RH, it’s just another district win. But if RH beats PI, well we all know how you react. If you lose, it’s just another loss to PI. I’m not saying that this is right or wrong, just how it is. After beating a team for so long, and only having memories of win after win, you tend to see it that way. Take a step away from the stat sheet, and ask yourself, how many times do YOU remember RH beating PI.
This is why this game is not a rivalry, yet.

being a PI historical thread... how bout some interesting tidbits? In the 1993 playoffs, PI faced a Carrizo Springs team that had a QB that amassed 1300 yds rushing AND 1000yds passing going into their playoff game against PI... the PI defense held him to 15 rushing, 3yds passing and sacked him 6 times

+1 tarpon track...
i graduated in 2004....and my four years there, well lets just say i remember RH would get alot of hype from the media for being 3-0, or whatever then PI would just shut them up...dont really remember RH being this dominant Rival...
First, i'll admit, before the 70's PI was not really a good football team in the least....
But let me pose a question, IF RH was "just as" dominant as PI was....why is it RH has yet to get past the second round of the playoffs?

A lot of the guys on the 1994 team would joke about that. ;D

being a PI historical thread... how bout some interesting tidbits? Here's one...the first year that Hidago fielded a team, I remember that they played at Port Isabel during the Tommy Roberts mini-Dynasty.They scored the first touchdown of the game and then the Tarpons proceeded to score 86 unanswered points for an 86-6 final. So don't feel discouraged Valley View, the Pirates dusted themselves off and although it took some time, they persevered and became a competitive district foe.
