how good would you guys say vitatoe is? i haven't seen UTEP play ever so i'm wondering how good is jeremy's shot to get the top spot?

Spring scrimmage back in May:
#10 Vittatoe 12 for 22 140 yards 1 TD 2 INT
#11 Springer 5 for 9 52 yards Orange Team:
Vittatoe is very mobile but also real young.
Springer is a 'pure' QB
Vittatoe plays more like Vince Young.

Last years record was NOT a reflection on Trevor. The defense was the Miners weekpoint and they lost most of thier games at the end. That and they were alternating QB's between Trevor and Lorne Sam. Vittatoe had the arm and Sam had the legs. Had Trevor been able to be THE QB for the season he'd have done more than just break the Miners freshman passing yards (3,101) and passing touchdowns (25) records. He's got a strong arm, he's accurate, he's smart and he's had one more year in the system than Jeremy has. That being said... I don't think Jeremy will have to wait till his senior year to play again like he did here in LF. He's starting to settle down and not be so hard on himself. He's gotten more used to the speed of the NCAA and he's more familiar with the system. I dunno if he'll start this year but if something happens to Trevor or if he slips I think Jeremy will be ready. I fully expect to see him get play time next year if not take the position. But that could just be my Maroon tinted glasses.  |

On a side note, if Jeremy DOES start in '09 I'll be needing someone to score me some ganja. We got word today that the Miners will be playing KU in the preseason and I'm affraid beer just isn't gonna take the edge off.  |

WTF?  ?? That's freaky...... What are the odds........the storyline that will be created in the pre-game show. Wow... Oh, and I see Jeremy put on some pounds. He's now at 215lb.....pretty good. |
