Port Isabel has beaten these non-valley opponents come playoff time: Freer Hebbronville Premont Hallettsville Edna Refugio Hondo Falfurrias Benavides Bishop San Diego George West Rockport-Fulton Carrizo Springs Orange Grove Cuero Bandera Sinton Aransas Pass Liberty Hill Rice Consolidated Ingleside CC West Oso 23 opponents, 18 non-valley opponents by Donna Harlingen should have a decent list

and i bet none of those schools have been very succesful at the higher class..... ...there are still small school. Aransas Pass -3A Taft - 2A (goes back 7 forth 2-3A) Kennedy 2A Sinton 3A Robstown 4A Cuero 3A Rosenburg-Richmond ?? (don't know who this is) Refugio 2A (few times in 3a) Devine 3A Sweeny 2A (few times 3A) Brady 2A ( I think) Quannah 2A Freer 2A - did ok in 3A Hebbronville 2A (was 3a dropped) South S.A. 3A Flour Bluff 4A Laredo Nixon 5A I guess the only one would be Laredo Nixon who moved up to 5A ... and well it's a Laredo School.

Sinton was actually a 4A school from the 1970's until the late 80's. My wife is a grad of Sinton High and they did go to the playoffs a few times in football as a 4a. Of course that was after the two team format was adopted in the early 80's because no one dared came close to beating GP in 1970's and early 80's.

Really? that explains the rivalry they (SINTON) also has for GP and Cal GP and Sinton still played non district for several years, but this year they won't play each other. Sinton even beat GP a few times when GP had some pretty darn good teams. Sinton and Calallen haven't played in a few years because I think the last time they played, Cal beat them something like 70-0. However, I think the 2001 Sinton team that went to state could have beaten Calallen that year if they would have played.

Rosenberg-Richmond became what is now called Lamar Consolidated (aka Rosenberg Lamar).... the 2007 Division I 4A State Champs
