Thanx Red...We had an awesome day, I couldnt have enjoyed it any better. It was my Dad, brother, bro in law, and myself. We had a blast out there wading. I didnt think our day was gonna end up like that but that is what fishing is all about.

i had a great day out there on Sat. It was awesome. Im thinking of going out there Friday afternoon. The wife saw the fish we caught on Saturday and now she wants to go.

Oh and by the way, no waders needed when you come. some wading booties will be very useful and highly recommended. I do have an extra pair if you don't have a set.

Well guys, I decided to call in sick today. I am taking my wife out to the beach, enjoy the sun, have a good lunch, and going fishing. She has been bugging me about going fishing since she saw what i caught on saturday. Ill let you guys know how we did.

im heading out around 930. I really needed a day off as well. I cant even remember the last time i called in sick, even when i really was sick. Im gonna try out my new penn spinning reel that my wife got me.

My water pump repair job worked like a charm. I headed out this morning with a good friend and offensive coordinator for Weslaco High Coach Ubaldo Pena.

Since last week's fiasco, water levels have receded to normal summer depths. Having not been on the water for a week now, I wasn't exactly sure where to go to. I finally decided to head south east of the mouth and soon started seeing wakes of redfish being pushed.

I came off plane in some slick water with mixed feelings as to how the morning would be since we had a full moon all night. We put on our wading booties and slipped off the boat. Some big red tails would appear every so often, but not long enough to really have a chance to reach them before they moved on. I finally came a across a 4 or 5 fish feeding together with their tails up in air. I quickly sent my lure flying into the pack and was rewarded with a quick strike. Five minutes later a nice 27" red was strung up.

Coach Pena and our other friend waded north and chased a few reds that just would not cooperate. They managed to hook up to a few lady fish, but that's not what we were after. About 45 minutes later, I returned to the boat and picked them up to move to a different venue. That first wade only produced one keeper red.

I moved further south and ran into a school of reds about 30 strong. We were able to cast at the fish as they moved away from us but no hook ups. I tried a few more times to hit some of the small schools of reds, but still no hook ups.

I finally decided to just drift and pole us around the area where all these fish were. By the end of that drift, 4 more reds came into the box. I moved around some more and really didn't come across many fish. I moved on and headed to the east side sand action. Can you believe not one stinky red came into view after about a 45 minute drift! My ace in the hole was not there today.

We tried a few different spots with not much success. We headed back in around 1:00pm having caught 6 reds and a few lady fish, but no trout. Fish were there to be had, but were just not cooperating very much.
