Bush trying to go out with a bang?
We are talking about a country that is actively working on a nuclear program and has vowed to destroy Israel by vaporizing it. That's not a small deal and it's been going on for several years.

Well, it seems we keep getting reports about some in Iran probably helping with those against the U.S., but it does seem like a move perhaps Bush thinks would favor Republicans in presidential election. Us getting into more conflicts--that's just making the world hate Americans even more. The proof now shows (& even back then they were pretty sure Iraq had no part in Sept. 11) we had NO business getting into Iraq (except to finish Bush Sr.'s war from early 90s, finally removing Sadam). This president also included North Korea (in addition to Iraq and Iran) in his AXIS of EVIL speech, but he has since backed away big time from going after that country... When we were getting into our current war(s) several years back, anyone speaking against them was called unpatriotic, unAmerican, and so on. So who's helping America be what we supposedly stand for, really? A lot of the the world hates what the U.S. stands for right now, and I can't completely fault them. Plus, let's not forget most Americans and Brits are against the wars right now.

I just hope our next president can take us where we are supposed to be.

There's only one that would do anything substantial. The other is determined to raise taxes.
And, I don't like either one of them.

Maybe I should rephrase that. There is an old school democrat running and an avowed socialist running. In simple terms, the socialist is the one promising to take care of all "our" problems by promising to raise taxes on the rich and on all businesses. . The "rich" are defined as those not getting the earned income credit on a tax return and are not employers.
Not sure about you but, I've never worked for a poor man. I've only worked for small business people, the government, or corporations. Small businesses and corporations generate wealth or income and tend to go away when the tax burden simply makes it easier to go away or go somewhere else.

either way we're screwed. but i'll go with the lesser of two evils by choosing Obama. voting for McCain would make me feel like im voting for Cheney Jr.

Can you name a reason why he is the lesser?
All I know is he wants more government control over just about everything.
France, Russia, China are decreasing taxes on their businesses. Are you familiar with that?
The US has one of the highest corporate/business tax rates out there and we are losing businesses left and right.

Son of Corb, looks like you know your stuff... I agree it's terrible several Arab states would like Israel gone. After the Holocaust of WW II, how nice that Israel was made a state (w/ support of U.S.). But then I have to step back and understand (not condone) that perhaps the Arab states have a right to hate that Israel was formed--that meant moving the Palestinians aside. I know it's a Holy Land for more than one religion, but I start to understand why Britain did not back the forming (or actual returning) of Israel after WW II. By supporting one, we are immediately against the other side in this Holy conflict... On the business side, it's very hard for me to really understand some of it. France and them decreasing taxes sounds great, but what's been a problem here is some businesses are being given tax breaks for going overseas. It just seems to me too often like the Republicans are glad to keep their rich corporate budies happy while the rest of the country is left with a bigger middle class (growing poorer as time goes) and way too many poor people for a country that's not considered 3rd World...

McCain is the democrat in disguise but feel the right might over power his own choices... as a religious man i would likly vote one way but it seem tht the more spiritual person is on the other party... Frankly i am sick and tired of the Rrepublican talking points... they have had 8 years in office and have managed to screw just about everything and everyone... for example Fuel... anyone could have seen that india and China were going to grow industrially and the lack of fuel was going to affect us... what do the dumbasses in office do... give subsideis for ethonol cconsumption... geez dont you think that its goingt o affect our food price... Bush shpuld have just stayed in Afgahn,,, maybe pressue Pakistan territory but Iraq.... pleez... Sadaam could not and would not hurt anyone outside his own country... so he was selling oil... yea we caught him breaking the rules... but then we find out half of the UN was benifeting... point is.... i dont think i can stand four more years of this crap again... plus if Obama dosent win.... you bet in four years Mrs. Clinton will so the lesser of two evils is obama over clinton.... i would rrather have obama for four trying for eight than clinton i four and this thime she would win....
