DLH would get way more money fighting MArgarito rather than the PacMan...MAyweather vs Margarito would be a great one to watch also.

Oscar Diaz update
Tuesday, August 19 2008
San Antonio welterweight Oscar Diaz remains in critical condition. The gutsy Diaz, who, after taking an 11-round beating from Delvin Rodriguez, July 16, collapsed in the ring between rounds, due to bleeding in his brain. He underwent surgery and a portion of the left cranium was removed to reduce the swelling. It’s unknown whether he will be able to make a complete recovery, let alone, a partial one, though doctors say it’s still too early to tell.

de la hoya vs margarito is a win no matter when. margarito is too strong and too quick, and he is able to take a punch too well to be threatened by DLH. the pacman fight is just for the cash, but i do agree that a margarito fight would be worth WAY MORE

dlh should just retire. if he fights pacman, i will not buy the ppv. I'm not even interested in watching his last fight. He's not a player at 147, he's simply a circus act now.

its the truth. Its funny he would think a manny win would get him respect, in reality he knows it wont. He's just trying to make as much money as possible and go out on a win fooling the general public when he himself knows he's full of crap and all this is just a payday against a fighter with a name that he can beat solely on the fact that pacquiao is just too damn small for him.pathetic.

i'm just saying because he's not the same fighter anymore. he needs to take on the next great fighter in that class and that is margarito. his taking on pacman is a slap in the face to real boxing fans

Campbell-Guzman heats up!
Wednesday, August 20 2008
Notes from the Campbell, Guzman camps
It’s no secret that IBF/WBO/WBA Lightweight Champion Nate Campbell (32-5-1, 25 KOs) and undefeated, former champ Joan Guzman (28-0, 17 KOs) do not like each other much. Recently, however, both camps threw more fuel onto the fire by exchanging insults.
CAMPBELL: ”Guzman doesn’t know what is going to happen to him,” says Campbell. “He has no idea where I'm taking him on Sept. 13th. I love it when they feed me these guys with these big fat shiny "0's" in their records. Everyone thinks they are gods because they are undefeated. All being undefeated means is that you haven't fought anybody yet, or you’ve never had to deal with any adversity in or out of the ring ... I'm collecting all these ‘0's’, and changing them to ‘Nate's.’ Kid Diamond is 26 and Nate. Juan Diaz is 33 and Nate. And on Sept 13, Joan Guzman will be 28 and Nate. I fought too long and too hard to let anyone take these titles from me, especially Guzman. He just doesn’t know what he is in for."
Campbell says camp is going well, “right on schedule—my sparring partners are earning every dime that we're paying them.” Not looking past Guzman, Campbell says he recognizes a mandatory defense coming up for his IBF title, after Sept. 13.
GUZMAN: “Campbell loves to talk. He likes to run his mouth about anything. He can say whatever he wants because it doesn’t change the fact that I will make him look foolish on Sept. 13 … Watching film and actually fighting me are two completely different things. If you thought I was fast and skilled on tape, wait until you try to hit me inside the ring. I’m a blur. It won’t happen.”
Guzman says he is not concerned about moving up to lightweight, thanks to his conditioning coach, David Buer.
Making his first title defense, Campbell will risk his three world titles against Guzman Saturday, Sept. 13, live on SHOWTIME CHAMPIONSHIP BOXING at 9 p.m. ET/PT (delayed on the West Coast). The fight will be co-promoted by Don King Productions and One Punch Productions, in association with Sycuan Ringside Promotions.

De La Hoya antes up!
Thursday, August 21 2008
67/33 cut makes fight more likely
The camp of boxing superstar Oscar De La Hoya has reportedly anted up their offer for Filipino boxing sensation Manny Pacquiao to make their dream fight a reality before the end of the year. A reliable source privy to the negotiations told Fightnews that representatives of both boxing superstars are now looking at a 67-33 split, in favor of De La Hoya, to make the fight happen. Talks have been on and off the past few weeks as De La Hoya remained firm in giving Pacquiao 30%, while the Filipino champion has been unyielding in asking for a 40% share of the total revenue.
The same source said Top Rank Inc. top gun Bob Arum and Golden Boy Promotions (GBP) Chief Executive Officer Richard Schaefer are now having encouraging discussions, and that an official announcement may be made by next week. Arum, representing Pacquiao, is currently in France for a much-needed break. The indefatigable American promoter will be in Youngstown, Ohio, next week to promote a major card featuring one of his fighters, undisputed middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik who will meet former kingpin Bernard Hopkins on October 18 in New Jersey. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- American trainer Freddie Roach has been adamant in wanting to get the fight done for Pacquiao, and believes his Filipino ward has what it takes to win against De La Hoya. In an interview with Philippine radio show "Sports Chat,” he stated: “I know we have to fight a very good fight and we need to have a great training camp and great sparring partners. The whole thing is preparation. And that's what Manny does best.”
